This one's old.

Stars

Heartbeats just get slower, slower,
Until you fade away,
The world spins faster, faster,
Every colour blurs to grey.

And I sit on my windowsill,
And watch the world go by,
Swing my legs through the cold night air,
Unknowingfully cry.

A silent tear falls from my chin,
I gaze up at the stars.
So far away, another world,
Oblivious to the cars

And trains, the buses, the people,
Which cause us so much pain,
And take the time away from us,
Which we can never reclaim.

Do the stars measure time like us?
Do they measure time at all?
Or just stay there for eternity,
Waiting for their call.
